Voyage Healthcare Medical Billing Team Outsourcing Their Work

The only worry that Voyage Healthcare’s medical billing management team faced was that they were unable to get the claims status on time. This resulted in them unable to track their denials, unpaid or less paid claims. Therefore, they contacted QZ Medx to assist them specifically in finding claims status, directly from insurance.

Strategic Claims Status Data Collection

The first step to know the claims status was by accessing data from eClinicalWorks (eCW), a software dedicated for multipurposes, offering solutions for claims filing and submission, payment posting, patients demographics and much more. QZ Medx, with its team of customer service representatives, started calling insurance companies, for instance, First Health, Medicare, United Healthcare, Blue Shield Blue Cross, etc. The hard task was to ensure we get the desired claims statuses in a month to know what was going on. Luckily, we were able to know about patients’ claims statuses (about 4000 claims) in just 28 working days.

  • We used eCW to access claims data in a CSV file.
  • Used Skype (Premium) to track down the patient claims status from insurance CSRs.
  • Our CSRs put down the data they found from insurance customer service representatives, whether the claim was paid, denied or half-paid and asked the insurance CSRs about the specific reason the claim was denied.
  • Once we knew the reason why the claim was denied, we were able to communicate with Voyage Healthcare’s medical billing management team and that way they refiled the claims to make them paid in full.
